Privacy Policy
How We Handle Your Information
Effective 27 July 2026 · ReadyOne Transportation and Tours Ltd.
We ask for your details so we can pick you up in the right place, at the right time, in the right vehicle — and for very little else. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why we need it, who sees it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
01 About this policy
ReadyOne Transportation and Tours Ltd. is the data controller for the personal information described here. This policy covers this website and the bookings, enquiries and payments made through it, and reflects our obligations under Jamaica's Data Protection Act.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
02 What we collect
Information you give us
When you request a booking or contact us, we ask for:
- Your name, email address and telephone number, so we can confirm the booking and reach you on the day;
- Your pick-up and drop-off locations, travel date and time, and the number of passengers;
- Your flight number for airport transfers, so we can track delays;
- Any notes you choose to add — child seats, accessibility needs, extra luggage, or anything else we should plan for.
Please share health or accessibility details only where they matter for your trip. We use them solely to plan the right vehicle and assistance, and we do not keep them longer than the booking requires.
Information we create
When you pay, we record the amount, currency, date, payment status and the reference PayPal gives us for the transaction, together with the invoice we issue you. If a member of our team takes a payment in person, we record the amount and whether it was cash, card or bank transfer.
Information collected automatically
Our server keeps standard web logs — IP address, date and time, the page requested, and your browser's user-agent string. These exist to keep the site available and to detect abuse, such as automated attempts to break into the booking system.
03 How we use it
| What for | Why we are allowed to |
|---|---|
| Arranging and delivering your booking | Necessary to perform our contract with you. |
| Taking payment and issuing invoices | Necessary to perform our contract, and to meet our tax and accounting obligations. |
| Contacting you about a booking in progress | Necessary to perform our contract — including sending you a payment link for a request you started but did not finish. |
| Answering enquiries and complaints | Our legitimate interest in running the business and resolving problems. |
| Keeping the website secure | Our legitimate interest in protecting our systems and our customers' data. |
| Marketing emails, if we ever send them | Only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. |
We do not send marketing to people who have simply booked a ride. The emails you receive from us about a booking — confirmations, invoices, payment links and reminders — are part of delivering the service you asked for.
04 Payments and card details
Online payments are processed by PayPal. Your card number, expiry date and security code are entered on PayPal's own secure checkout and are sent directly to them. They never reach our servers and we cannot see them.
What we do receive back from PayPal, and store, is confirmation that a payment succeeded or failed, the amount and currency, and PayPal's transaction reference. That is what lets us match a payment to your booking and issue your invoice.
PayPal handles your information as an independent controller under its own terms. Please read the PayPal Privacy Statement (opens in a new tab) to understand what they do with it.
05 Who we share it with
We share the minimum necessary, and only with:
- Your driver or guide — your name, telephone number, pick-up and drop-off points, timing and passenger count, so they can find you and complete the trip;
- Partner operators and attractions — where a tour includes a third-party activity, or we arrange a trusted partner to perform a service, we pass only what that operator needs;
- PayPal — to process payments, as described above;
- Our email and hosting providers — who process data on our instructions in order to deliver our emails and run this website;
- Professional advisers and authorities — our accountants, or the police, courts or a regulator where we are legally required or permitted to disclose.
We do not pass your details to advertisers, data brokers or list resellers, and we never will.
Some of our providers, including PayPal, operate outside Jamaica, so your information may be processed abroad. Where that happens we rely on providers that offer appropriate safeguards and contractual protections for your data.
06 Cookies and tracking
This website uses no advertising cookies, no analytics, and no third-party trackers. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, and no social media tracking on these pages. Our fonts and icons are served from our own server, so simply visiting does not report you to anyone else.
The only cookies we set are strictly necessary ones:
- A session cookie, which keeps your booking form and its security token together while you fill it in. It expires when you close your browser.
- A security token used to verify that forms were submitted from our own site and not forged by a third party.
These cannot be switched off without breaking the booking form, and they are not used to profile you or follow you across other websites. If you continue to a PayPal checkout, PayPal sets its own cookies under its own policy.
07 How long we keep it
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| Completed bookings, payments and invoices | Seven years from the end of the relevant tax year, as our accounting and tax obligations require. |
| Unpaid booking requests | Removed once they are clearly abandoned, and in any case within 12 months. |
| Enquiries sent through the contact form | Held in our email for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up. |
| Server and security logs | A short rolling period, then overwritten. |
Enquiries sent through our contact form are emailed to our team — they are not stored in a marketing database, and we do not add you to any mailing list for having contacted us.
08 Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- Show you the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct anything that is wrong or out of date;
- Delete information we no longer need to keep;
- Stop or limit a particular use of your information;
- Withdraw consent where we relied on it, such as for marketing;
- Receive a copy of the details you gave us, in a portable format.
Email us using the address below and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first so that we do not disclose your information to someone else. There is no charge.
Where we must keep certain records — a paid invoice, for example — we will explain why, and restrict them to that purpose rather than continuing to use them. If you are unhappy with how we have handled a request, you may complain to the Information Commissioner in Jamaica.
09 How we protect it
This site is served over encrypted HTTPS, so what you type into the booking form is protected in transit. Our booking system sits behind individual staff accounts with role-based permissions: team members can see only the parts of the system their job requires, and administrative actions are logged.
No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach ever occurs that is likely to put your rights at risk, we will notify you and the relevant authority without undue delay.
10 Children's privacy
Our services are booked by adults. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children, and this website is not directed at them. Where children travel with you, we collect only what we need to carry them safely — typically the number of children and their ages, so the right seats are fitted. If you believe a child has given us information directly, contact us and we will delete it.
11 Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change or the law requires it, and the effective date at the top will change with it. Where a change materially affects how we use information we already hold about you, we will tell you directly rather than relying on you to re-read this page.
12 Contacting us
For any privacy question, or to exercise any of the rights in section 8, contact us using the details below and mark your message “Privacy request” so it reaches the right person quickly.
Our Terms & Conditions explain the rest of the relationship between us when you book.
